The Oceans Benefit is SDOF’s annual gala for community members to join us to reflect on SDOF’s accomplishments in the last year, look forward to the next and present the Roger Revelle Award to a deserving recipient.
Each year, SDOF seeks to host this event at a unique location, with attractions and music, a cocktail hour and a sumptuous dinner. The evening is filled with entertainments of all sorts and is always fun and enjoyable, never “stuffy” or dull!
This year’s Oceans Benefit event will be hosted at Sea World’s Dolphin Point and Manta Exhibit. Guests will get to interact with rays and dolphins, as well as get exclusive access to Seaworld’s newest ride!
March 10 – March 15, 2013
Sustainable Seafood Week unites restaurants committed to bringing attention to the sustainable seafood movement. Each restaurant agrees to feature a sustainable seafood plate or prix fixe menu and donate a portion of their profits to support the San Diego Oceans Foundation’s research and marine science education programs.
This weeklong event entices guests to try new restaurants and opens their eyes to a whole new world of delicious entrees. Sustainable Seafood Week helps to educate the public about the importance of supporting businesses that have developed more sustainable solutions to environmental concerns, proving that a simple choice can have a lasting and beneficial impact on the environment.
Beach Walk Cleanup
Saturday, May 11, 2013 @ 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM
At Oceanside Pier
Hate seeing trash all around the beach? So do we! We have tons of trash laying around from beach clean ups and need to get rid of it somehow. What better way to do that than making beautiful pieces of art!
Join us and Rubio’s on May 11th for a beach clean up around Oceanside pier, with an art workshop where we are going to be making plastic monsters, planter boxes, and other artwork, all out of trash that we have gathered from our local San Diego beaches! Bring your kids and have them enjoy a hands-on workshops hosted by various San Diego artists. After all the fun trash cleanup and art demos, come to the after party hosted by Rubio’s!
Our creative artists this year will be: Kira Corser, Lester Corral, Sue Doyle, Carol McMannus, and Skyler Wefer.
SDOF’s annual underwater cleanup of San Diego Bay brings divers, snorkelers, and land support volunteers together to get dirty for a cause and help remove thousands of pounds of trash from our bay! More info to come.
